Yeah, but their not like the salties up north in your part of the world. We "dig" these in January/February when the Herps are pretty much inactive (the snakes are really worse than the gators )there anyway.

Well, my only experience with the beasts (salt water crocodiles) was on plant fand bird finding/watching excursion up the Daintree- was February and raining (what else?). Don't think I would be standing in waist deep water to dig around there...... John

Nice trophy John I'd say mount it on the wall, but I wouldn't want you to strain anything

Any thoughts yet on how you'll style this?

John, couldn't find anything with more taper or a larger buttress?

What have I always said about posting pictures of stick in pots!

Man you gonna need a loan for a pot for this thing....

Can't wait to see it potted, Al

Big Smile

In my neck of the woods the baldies do not have this ribbon like fluted root flare. I wonder what the differences are... taxodium subspecies or environment or both perhaps. I collected a baldie about that size..will try and post a picture so you can see the structural development of our trees. I had to dig something with size because I am going to be old and grey by the time my black pine develop any trunk...
