critique my collection

I would like some you more experienced artists to critique some of my nicer material. The juniper was styled by Ted Matson at the Triangle Bonsai society april 2007 demo, I bought it at the December auction. The kingsville boxwood I bought from meehan's miniatures at the 2007 NC Expo. I will post some more trees tomorrow

Thanks

Well, I do not consider myself an artist but having done a few trees might put me in the "experienced" category.
I think the lower right side branch on the Juniper makes it look a little too balanced.
I would consider shortening or even removal of it to give the tree a more asymetrical look. If it is shortened it could be used for more jin in that area.
And eventually thinning out some of the canopy to create some negative space.
The tree has very nice potential and I like the shari on the trunk.

Good luck, Hector

I agree with Hec. There is a lot of nice movement in that branch, so it would make a very attractive jin. I think the tree is trying to do too much, but it's a nice piece of material. Good get.

The kingsvilles are nice trees to work with but it's impossible to tell anything from the photo you provided.
