Crab apples produce great flowering and also fruits. I really like them. I have found that it is difficult to get them to conform to the standard design rules. Try and follow some bonsai rules in terms of branch placement but usually it is difficult to get the right.
This tree needs some lower branching on the left hand side if you want to keep it upright. Also give it a cut back on some of those long branches once it has finished flowering. The best time of year to enjoy them is when they are flowering, well that's what i think. David |

Thanks for the reply David.
Do you think that this tree needs more branching on the left side, or would you remove the lower branch from the right side? To me (most certainly an neophyte still) it looks like that lowest branch is just completely out of place...am I wrong? I agree with you about the flowering...it makes the tree gorgeous! Thanks Again, Andrew |
