Cotoneaster franchetii

At least I'm sure thats the species- a largish shrub/tre with biggish leaves, tho not too big!

I started this in the spring, was dug up from my hedge and cut back drastically, then it started to sprout new growth.

These make nice little trees in four to five years.

Look round the neighbourhood - probably loads of them once you startgrubbing around in the bushes...

So cheap too. Most hedges planted in council estates in Britain way back were cotoneaster so there must be plenty of old specimens around. Try for a thick trunk Larry. Regards Ash
