You are still a kid and so is Tom. I hit 60 in October but I started when I was eleven. I hope you guys can avoid some of the things I had to learn the hard way. I think that is why I get so bent, sometimes around here, when someone insists on reinventing the wheel, and with a year or less of experience they already have it all figured out. Any way, this is a great little tree worth all the effort we can put into it. I can see nothing bad about this tree.

Nice tree Tom, I wanted to see it without the lower branch so here you go. could be nice with the top thinned & defined. I look forward to seeing what you & Vance do with it next.

I have an older brother that started before I did and he got me hooked. He no longer does much with bonsai, too busy sending things into space.
