Collected Mountain Laurel
this is the mountain laurel I collected at work. Its stem is about 7.5" in diameter. Its base is huge, but had alot of feeder roots up high, so I will lower the soil line at the next repotting. It will be trunk chopped above the hollowed trunk.

They are beautiful trees with beautiful (but sticky) flowers. I have a numbe rof them in my yard but sinc ethey are our state tree I can't do anything with them. I think you have an interesting start.
