Collected Beech

Heya!

I collected this Beech today. The nebari is 13,5cm. I'll chop the trunk lower. It's getting late, gotta sleep. Sorry for the poor picture. I'll write more tomorrow...

Its definately got some great nebari going IMO. Also good movement.

cant wait to see it when it gets some more ramification and leaves goin.

getting it filled out should Be a Real treat!

I agree, although it will probably take a decade before this tree looks remotely decent. I suspect I will have to graft a new leader, but I'm gonna just let it grow for 2 years and hope that a bud pops in just the right spot. Other suggestions are very welcome!

Regards
Emil

Very nice trunk movement and root base. Even has some lower branches for a possible new leader? Good luck, Larry

It does have low branches, but none of them in the right spot.

Chop it just above the lowest branch, but don't cut that branch. If you kept enough roots, this won't be a problem.
Plant the tree in a growing box next spring, without disturbing the roots too much.
