Chinese Elm
Here is a Chinese Elm that i plan on working with the next for days.
I got it from Matsumomiji, was field grown for 6-8 years. The trunk is 2 inches the height is 18 inches Let me know what y'all think. |

lots of potential, but also lots of work involved! the trunk has a nice informal shape already etc, but looks like a heap of fun! is that the same tree in your avatar pic?

oh ok then! lol very similar shape to the elm!! i thought you just had worked it and wired it and given it the old prunesy! hehe
but nah i think its going to be a very nice tree indeed! both!!! im going shopping for a corky bark chinese elm next week! ill post up some pics then!! once your 'finished' on the tree over the next few days post up a couple pics! im intrigued to see what it will look like! good luck mate! also, ITS GREAT TO ACTUALLY BE TALKED TO BY SOMEONE!! another newbie at that!

The tree at present is 18" tall, if we go with convention you need to chop off 6 inches to be proportional to your girth. I believe we are doing the same thing here from a different angle. I've attached a virt.
