Since it's an olive it has an excellent chance of recovery. Good luck with that.

It's premature to decide, but you may have two trees here.

Two trees, yes quite possibly, but I chose this particular one because I liked it's double trunk, and there are plenty of mono trunks on the hill to choose from anyways.

Fantastic tree, I agree with you do not cut it into two trees.
I also believe that your virtual is the right direction for this tree, as you know Olives are slow growers, pleas do not make a pine tree out of it.
There is a good chance that I will be in Sydney this January.

Okay, being new to Bonsai, and certainly new to collecting ... I have to ask this question:

What can you do about the trunk chops? Do you carve them so that there is taper? Let the foliage grow out of the chops?

I'm curious, as I've never been collecting before. Let me know were you go from here
