Casuarinaceae

I did not like its nebari.
Last week I had cut it, rearrange it, cut more roots and repotted it in a training pot.
Next, it will have a new haircut.

I believe this is and Australian tree. We call it the She-Oak down here. The needles? or folage is extremely long. Haven't seen one bonsaid down here yet.
Good luck
David

Hi David,
Yes, it is an Australian tree.
Casuarinaceae is the botanical name, the common name is Casuarina, for obvious reasons it is also called Horse Tail and of course in Australia She-Oak.
Thank you.

I would really like to see how this tree develops. I'm really curious how, if at all, you can reduce the needles/folage. From my understanding this does not grow like a pine tree, ie. doesn't grow needles.

Keep me posted if you can on its development.
Thanks
David

Amy Liang book, "The Living Art of Bonsai", excellent book.
