Castle Gardens In Arcen
Hi,
A while ago we visited the "Kasteeltuinen" ( Castle gardens ) in Arcen. http://www.kasteeltuinen.nl/en/index.html I'd like to share some pictures with you. This park is really worth visiting ! In the park are a couple of Giant Sequoias ( sequoiadendron giganteum ) I know they're not half as big as the ones in the states but i think they are still pretty amazing. My oldest daughter is standing in front of the trunk for scale. This tree is about 100 years old |

Pfew, the forum is slooooww today.. How about a hedge made of dawn redwoods ( metasequoia gliptostroboides ) ?

Does anyone know if dawn redwoods make knees like the swamp cypresses ?? These look like knees..

This is the only "bonsai" I clould find in the park. Don't know what the species is.

There's a very impressive maple garden in the park. These are all acer palmatum and acer japonica. Some very old examples !
