This is a little project that I started with a cedar. Lots of things to do yet....refinement etc. Lots more growth to go as well.
started it this way.

a view from the left.
This is a tree that I like to putz around with, it is fun and a good tree so far to learn with, it has responded well so far. I have had this for going on three years. It is collected material. The pot I originally had it in suffered a winter crack, (unglazed brown cascade pot, about the same size as this) It needs more definition, detail wire and the apex pulled a little more back above the base (IMO). The roots could also be a little deeper in the pot. Comments please. Paul

BTW I liked the last view as my front. It is photo'd off the hood of my blazer, that is why it is angled......sorry.

If you get raffia and some copper wire on that branch, you can bend it. It really needs to come back in.

I will take a pic from a different angle to show you the movement in it at the moment. Thanks Matt for taking the time to do the virt, I like the presentation that way.

Hey Paul.. I like the current length of the cascade
..Matt's virtual showed the turns needed to bring it into balance and give it some movement. Nice 'lil tree. I'd work the whole branch.. it ya don't like it it is easy to remove .. take some time to grow it back..

Tom and Matt,
Here is the long branch. and a two follow-up pix. How do I get the branch not to look like superman styled it and left his "S" in the branch? Would raffia and a few sharper bends do it, or should I leave it as is? Paul

I was going to post three pix, but the third is close to this one, so why take up space.
Dont get me wrong, I do like the length, and would not really concider cutting back just yet. It is only do to the un-natural (IMO) curves in the cascade. Perhaps in a couple seasons I will see it differently eh? I do plan to let this fill out in foliage, perhaps that will disguise it as well..... Paul
