Carob Yamadori story.
It is very hot here both the situation and the weather so my solution is to act as normal as possible.
Here is a Yamadori story of Carob tree. It was found on January 2006 and was dug out at the end of February 2006. This tree is over 20 years old, it is quit clear that the "gardeners" of this pre bonsai were goats.

It was potted in the filed in three layers of soil, first thick layer of Tuff, then a layer of perlite under, around and above the roots and then third layer of Tuff.

After a few month it was clear that the tree passed the shock of the Yamadori and it begin to sprout.
Since then it was cleaned from a lot of dead branches and finally last weak it had its first initial styling.

What a great tree! I have never seen a carob tree before. I love the leaves. It looks to be doing very well. Thanks for the photos.
As for the heat - keep the faith. It takes a lot of courage for a country to do what yours is doing for self preservation.

Interesting tree and this one should make a pretty good bonsai.
This is a species with a colorful history: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/carob.html There might be some of these around in So. Cal. and the Southwestern U.S., as they were planted in those areas decades ago in hopes of making carob a cash crop. |

Thank you all.
One more interesting fact about the Carob, it is the only tree in our area that it's main season to sprouts and blooms is in October, which strengthen the fact that it's not a local tree. It is believed that its origin is the Yemen Mountains. Soon, if everything permits, I will upload some photos of Pistacia lentiscus which usually grows with the Carob. It is very sad to tell, with no comparison to people, that literally Millions of trees are burning now on the north parts of Israel. Some of them are thousands of years old, most of them fifty to eighty years old. These trees where planted usually on bare mountains, as the forests there where earlier exploit mostly by careless use.
