Hi Nikosks,
The pictures aren't too clear and a close up of the foliage would be a big help. That said, the bark of the tree in the first picture looks like a Serissa and the second picture looks like a Chinese elm. Clearer pictures will help people confirm this. All the best, Aaron |

Hi,
That's definately a Chinese Elm. Both tree's can be kept outdoors during the summer months, which is probably the best thing, as they get more sunlight to grow then. The elm can be kept outside during winter, providing you give it protection from frost and cold winds. It will lose its leaves in the late autumn and go dormant over the winter months. If the temps drop down to near freezing point, I'd suggest bringing it inside to play safe. The serissa must be kept inside during winter (minimum temp 12C/54F). Water only when required IE don't get into a routine of watering the trees. Let the soil/tree tell you when its thirsty. Keep the soil damp but not soaking wet is the best way forward, as trees need both air and water for their roots. The soil that both trees are in, looks rather compact. If this is the case, and the soil gets swamp like when wet, I'd recommend getting it a better soil mix in the future. Kindest regards, Aaron |

someone told me to add some h2O2 Hydrogen peroxyde to the warer (1 part peroxyde in 12 parts watter) to avoid root roting. Is this true or can damage the roots?

Hi,
Plants watered with a H2O2 solution, receive an increased amount of Oxygen at the roots. It is commonly used in hydroponic setups, which is why I came across page after page of marajuana related websites. However, one did have a very good explanation on how and why it works. H2O2 Really though, if you are having to add such chemicals to your water to keep your trees healthy, its basically telling you that you should look for better soil in the first place. Have a read up on the forum regarding soils and soil components, then look to mixing your own and repotting the trees in due course. All the best, Aaron |
