Identification

The picture isn't very clear. It could be a lot of things, possibly a Fukien Tea or an Elm of some kind. Try to post a clear, close up of the leaves as well as a clearer overall shot. I am sure someone on here can tell you what it is if we have a better photo. susieq |

Even though the pic is very unclear, I am 70% sure it is an elm.

This may sound mean, but why in the world would you buy a tree when you dont even know what it is? I admire your interest in bonsai and trees as well, but certain trees have certain needs, and how would you have known them if you wouldn't have found this forum?
It's like buying a car and not knowing what its called or what kind, you just dont do that. Ask as many questions as possible about a tree before you buy it, the first and foremost question should be what kind of tree it is, the second should be is it deciduous, evergreen, or tropical, and the third should be what are its needs. That is all I have to say. You wouldn't buy anything else without knowing what it was, why would you just go blindly into buying a tree? |

maybe an Elm, but my vote would be Fukien Tea.
this is kinda fun. like playing black jack. you see some of what's there but have to wait to see the rest. very exciting. can't wait to see who's right |

Hmmmm... this actually looks like a tough one. I say Chinese Elm. lil_richee, are the leaves glossy? That'll solve it. If they're glossy it's a Fukien.
