California Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens)

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site. I have always grown to love Bonsai. Now that I finally got a house, I can fulfill my dream now. I will post some of my trees from time to time, hoping that I can get some advice and share some of my bonsai journary to you all. Here's my California Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), 3fts tall, 10" trunk. I love this tree. 1st picture is 'before' and the 2nd picture is 'after' 2 hours of work. I'm still working on it, some of the branches need to be re-wired as you can tell. Still a work in progress for this weekend. Cheers.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad to see people interested in redwood as much as I do.
Living in California, it's hard not to fall in love with them.

Nice piece of stock there. Redwood can make nice bonsai. Here's one I see regularly at the Nat. Arboretum in Washington D.C. Third tree down the page. It has nicely placed branching--http://www.bonsai-wbff.org/nabf/gallery.htm.
