I need to give gredit to my friend Don at Gregory Beach Bonsai for finding all of my Kotobukis, not and easy job in the US. It won't be long before they become more popular here in the US as more and more people discover them.

They were discovered in the 50's- were in style for a long time and then have disappeared. I have seen some nice older trees that have more dense branching, but they are few and far between. They are apparently an acquired (literally.....) taste. I think you and Don have lovely ones, they just don't do it for me, though I do appreciate the work and their appearance.

John, you are truly a gentleman in every respect. Your only fault is your lack of taste applied to Kotobuki.

For those not initiated - what is Kotobuki in layman's terms?

Kotobuki directly translated means congratulations or long life.

Kotobuki,
Howard
