Bored And Nothing To Do
Bored and nothing To do, with all the rain we're getting here in Tx. (Spring rains have finally arrived in June) and thought I would have a little fun with one of my trees, a Tx. Ash, and one of my rocks that I keep hidden in the garage. I'm not too much into the mudmen either, but this one was given to my wife and thought I would use it for this. Hope the rains end soon.

Thomas, the rock is fantastic. Ever planned to use it in something else?

David,
I planned on using the rock on with something, I just don't what. I have a few more that are a little more smaller and of course different shapes. I just don't know what to use them with. so far this is the best I could come up with. Ron, I know what you mean about the Penjing thing. When I first looked at the book Chinese Bonsai - The Art of Penjing back in 1992, I was under its spell.

Thomas, I can understand your dilemma. I believe it is one of the hardest things when you have a great rock with so many features it is a stand out on it own trying to combine it with a tree somehow. In this case the rock is the the main attraction and the tree/s should enhance the beauty of the rock. I think your current composition is nice but I believe this rock is destined for bigger and a more awe inspiring display.

Thomas,
I am really fond of this combination...I too like Penjing...there is just something about the various elements being put together in a pleasing design that says "ART"... In my opinion this group of elements has that special something...no struggle between the parts, just a matter of each contributing to the whole to make a beautiful work of art... Thanks for sharing your boredom...I too hope these rains let up soon...we have been hit really hard down here... Regards Behr ![]() |
