Bonsai this time

I wanted to show off my new shohin display stand that I plan on using in our club show. It may be rearranged a few times before I get it like I want it to look. I might leave off one of my shohin and add another one of my Chinese viewing stone collection. This stand was custom made for me by Greg at Artisan Bonsai Stands, he does beautiful work like Al. Check out at his website.

Nice stand, very nice stand. Got anything other than a pine? No shimpaku? Don has a very nice pea, a trident and I would suggest a winterberry. Some don't look shohin (8" max). See urushibata's article on shohin displays in the last bonsai focus, or you can buy Morten Albek's book.
Cheers,
John

Yeah, I've got a juni I can put on the top and a mame hinoki cypress in a sara Raynor pot I can use. I mainly was taking a picture for Greg to put on his website, this is the first shohin stand he has made, but he can make anything you want out of any kind of wood. I have about 10 of his stands. Sometimes I have a very nice pee too.

Oooo! Ahhh!

Some of those in teak might solve your other problem outside.

I need a nice shohin display like that.

First, however, I wish I had four or five nice displayable shohin.

Im starting to have those prostate problems too. Glad you have good ones sometimes. Keep us updated.

O and cool stand, pine on top seems fine to me. Others seem sightly crowded, but hey Are we at Gafuten, ?

John, Dont want to start this ole chestnut again but I think 25 cm / 10 inches, is the height currently used. May change any moment.

What say ye?

Well that gives me a opportunity to buy some smaller trees I didn't want to follow convention, just do my own thing. I never cared much for the shohin displays with little trees with all kinds of extra space around them. May not be correct, but it's the way I want to display mine.
