Bonsai Close Up

Hi everybody,
How abouth starting a THREAD full of close up shots from our bonsai!
I love those shots were you truely can be amazed how much the actualy look like their big brothers out there!
I open this THREAD with a shot of my Dutch yamadory Carpinus betulus , witch i saived from being cut into bits by a machine, when they were destroing a more than 60 years old and 3 kilometer long hedge.
It was nothing more than a stump when i started working with it, some 10 years ago now.
Hope you wil all look for some nice close ups, so we can start a nice TRHEAD, and we all can enjoy them!
Best regards,
Hans van Meer.

I'd like to see the entire plant as well as the close-up...anyone else?

Maybe, a picture of the front, one picture of the canopy, and another of the nebari. Or anything that is of special interest, like a hollowed trunk etc . . .

I'll move this to Show & Tell and look forward to seeing some Bonsai in detail.

Best Regards,
Ian.

I think you two might be missing it. This thread is about detail. I wouldn't want to restrict posting to people that feel any pressure to show entire trees. I am not even sure this thread is about "entire plants" since there are many of those. Post what you want, and let the thread focus on unique details that bring out the illusion of bonsai.

If you want to post the one wonderful characteristic of a mediocre tree, go for it! Don't feel like you need to show us everything. I'd actually rather not see it all here - If I understand the intent, this is a "scrap book." Let's leave out the overviews. Amaze me with the microcosm!

Regards,

Matt

Matt,

Good idea. A bit like the macro thread, but just showing details of Bonsai, rather than insects, plants and other things that get in there.

Time to get our Cameras out !

Regards,
Ian.

Hans,

That's an ideal starter..... if that was published on anything other than this forum, no one would guess that it was not taken on a local walk in the countryside!

Thanks for starting this thread. I look forward to other submissions.

Regards,
Ian.

This is a great idea for a thread. I enjoy taking closeups of the details of bonsai.
