black pine

here is a befor picture of a black pine that I worked on today. In the morning I will post the after picture so you all can see how I abuse my bonsai material.

here is the after picture of the pine that I was working on last night. The base of this tree is four inches and it is 12 inches tall. I am still working on the jin, i will continue to carve and dry it untillI am satisfied with it. I should also mention that this tree was nursery stock, the roots are inarched together and will never be bonsai but it is very exceptable as chinese pinjing. This is also one of the reasons that I grow my own stock for bonsai, it is the only way that I can insure that the foundation of the plant is correct.
