Maybe I would clean up the foilage of the largest tree just a little bit, but I like this composition really well, the way it makes use of the space. The fact that the foilage is not totally neat is working for it too I think, gives it a natural feeling. Me likes.

Ok, I knew I should have done more.
A little breakfast and a little more bonsai.
Any good?

Hi Wes, you continue to impress me!

About the ground cover, maybe if you just picked off the white/light bits in the top layer of soil it would look better on its own. My own mix of soil has perlite in it, good underneath but looks naff on top. I pick all the white bits out with tweezers, a long job sometimes, but makes a whole lot of difference.

Or, just topdress with small grained akadama. It might wash off if you're too vigorous with watering though.

Or thirdly, get some moss on there

Regards,

Chis.

Thanks Dale.

This was my last empty slab cept for the 4 footer waiting on one of the big scheffs.I will need to go get some more of the more manageable sizes.Maybe I can go collect on Valentines day ,then I can talk the GF into carrying out a 5 gallon bucket of the decomposed granite chips I can use for top dressings etc..

LOL... Yeah........ right..... LOL

Wes you do dream big... that's what I like about you soooo much.

Oh and great looking composition on the olives btw. I thought you ordered 5 trees for the planting?? Did I miss one, or did you like it better as a 4 tree planting? That one all the way to the right looks like a split trunk not a seperate tree. I'm more interested in knowing if you didn't end up with the 5th tree than I am the even or odd of the planting group of course.

Your Friend,

Thats the idea Wes. Get 'em trained while still single.
Next lesson after carrying buckets of gravel ....watering.....
quickly followed by proper shovel use while collecting
