smaller pot

I do not intend to 'style' thsistree now. As far as I am concerned it is finished. The aim was to make it look like a wild Scots pine in the mountains. It should not look like a bonsai.

best regards

Hi Walter,

I had to try a virtual as a dreaded bonsai. Change of planting angle and some styling.

I think the first branch is particularly interesting. Its shape (when presented in a classical form seems to mandate a slant style). Personally I think it looks big & majestic in this form.

It's fun to butt heads on this "classical vs. naturalistic" theme, even if I always lose!

Regards,

Matt

I love the tree and the possiblities but I don't like the choice you made about this being a naturalistic style tree. This could be a beautiful tree as a classic style tree.

I really like what matt did with it. That would be the direction I would aim for.

Since it is your tree it is your decision though.

I'm not sure you always lose, Matt. Your virtual is an excellent potential future for the tree.

As an aside, I really like the 1998 photo - almost more than the present one. I'm not sure why. Any thoughts from anyone?
