Big plans

What do you think about my "big" plans?
Feel free to change them or give a piece of advice.
They might take a while to load.

Re: Big plans

I'm with Rene...I would love to see some actual pics, if you have them. I like all of them except #1. The perfectly straight deadwood, and the live tree looping around and going up, also, conflict with each other. There is no focal point. If the branch is going to be the focal point, I would either eliminate the dead wood or drastically lower it. Or if the deadwood is to be the focal point, I would (if there is enough growth on the branch) shorten it and have it drop down slightly without the loop and the foilage going down slightly, also.

Just my opinion!! Hope to see others.

Re: Big plans

As you may see, most of the trees are mame size,
so they can be easily collected here in Finland.
Also, the winter is still here and most of my trees are in the ground.

I am a creative soul and I will probably never carry out all of these plans.
I already have some new plans.

I have no pics of the trees for these plans, but I can show you
an almost-literati juniper. Please dont look at the pot...

Thanks for your opinion, Earl.

Re: Big plans

You seem to be pretty good at drawing. Your literati is ok, but I think it needs to have a few more branches removed and some movement put into the trunk. Also it would benefit from having the remaining branches wired downward or something to give a more tortured look. Good luck and keep drawing, you never know when you might come upon just the right tree for your design.

Re: Big plans

Sandi,

I am going to bend the tree more, but I have just styled it so I will keep it as is for a while.
I have also thought about the number of the branches and
I will cut some of them out just like you said.
And I have planned to bend those remaining branches down a bit.

Zeb
