Big Fig 1

Hi Everyone Iwuold Like Some Suggestions On Styling This Fig ,i Was Given This Tree As A 3 Metre Lollypop Fig That Was Very Sick,as You Can See I Hade To Cut It Back Quite A Lot.the Lady Who Gave It To Me Said It Is About 20-25 Years And The Trunk Thickness Is 56cm,ive Cut It To36cm .i Would Really Appreitiate Some Ideas And Suggestions Asthis Tree Has Some Very Promising Potential And I Dont Want To Start Badly.

I'd also slip pot the tree into a much larger growing container, as a powerful trunk like that will demand some heavy branches to keep things in proportion. Providing more space for the roots should speed this process up. Other than that, you will have to wait to see what the tree throws out in the way of new growth, like Brian suggests.

I would remove any branches that you do not think will be in the final tree, especially the lower ones. They are just sucking energy from the branches that you want to grow big and strong.

How is the chop healing? You may want to leave a few extras there if it is taking a while.
