Between a rock and another rock
This started out as an informal upright, kinda' broomy. After 2 years of neglect and abuse it spoke to me. We'll see what happens. Right now the rock visually overpowers the tree but once the tree grows a little it'll take over. Maybe some day I'll put it on one end on a larger stone slab. The trees tell me what to do

I like it. The stones have a suiseki feel to them. I see a distant mountain stone with an alpine tree on the mountain top. Very good job.

The tree looks a little like a Valley Girl to me. Broomlike and twiggy. Maybe she'd be happier down on the plain in front of the stones.
A tree up in the high mountains there would need to be scraggly and bent, as if it were influenced by the wind and snow. I also think the soil line should be brought down a bit to ease into the pot a little. I added a couple of books on Saikei to the ***books***. You can browse your way over to Amazon.com from there and read some excerpts without laying down any green.
