Baobab In Summer

A medium size baobab that I have had for about 10 years. It was grown from seed by a friend of mine. The seeds are coated with the spice cream-of-tartar.

The tree is pretty young and I am letting it grow out a bit. With a little more growth and pruning a more mature looking tree can be acheived. Here is a quick virtual.

Hank,

That is a nice looking tree, I am growing a baobab from seed right now, hopefully someday down the line mine will look as nice. Your lucky to be living in south africa; to find a baobab of that size here in states is pretty dificult, hopefully you can bring yours over when you move.

Jow, thanks for the comments. There is very nice post from Carl Rosner by Duncan Wiles about growing baobabs on the the General forum. He is very knowledgable about baobabs and I would recommend you take a look at it.

Greggles, I think I prefer the baobab the way it is.

Hank,

I read that post it was actually in response to the thread I started before I planted my seeds. I don't know why but I love baobabs and if in thirty years one of my seedlings makes a decent looking tree I will be quite pleased.
