Autumn Colours / Fall Colors

Hi.

One of the highlights of the bonsai year for me must be the autumn colours of deciduous trees. So... I thought I'd start a thread for people to post up their tree's autumn colours to.

Here is mine, for starters. Lovely coral pink tinge. Its my fuji Cherry, Prunus Incisa. It has a rather enchanting name of kojo-no-mai, or "dance of the butterflies" (this tree has been seen elsewhere on these pages )

Regards,

Yes we have it tough here in Fresno, very extended growing season. I have often concidered renting Cold storage to get color on my decidous trees. We will ocationally get weather that gives us good color but not every year. The leaves are so old on the decidious trees that it seems that they just turn yellow and wear off of the trees. This is one reason that I will do so much defoliatinng on maples and tridents at the end of summer, If we do get a cold spell the new leaves will give better color. If we don't get the cold spell then I get a second growing season.
Yes we have it tough here in fresno!!!

I was rummaging thru some old computer files and found this pic.
Thought I would share. Some of my Amurs are changing now, so will post those soon.

Fall Bench 2001

Seen are a Rhus (Staghorn Sumac), grape, Siberian elm. a mugo (the green one lol) and you can catch an acer (amur) ginnala or two there as well.

It's still in the upper 80s and lower 90s here in the Lonestar State. Nightimes are great though at about 65deg. I still have a couple of months before my Japanese Maple puts on this kind of color. This is from last Dec.
