anyone have any black dragon cryptomerias?

ive had this one fro awhile now and tried to shape it up a bit, i brought the apex down abit and thinned the top - the bottom branch suffered some damage after a gust of wind came along and blew the whole thing off a stand last summer leaving the roots sticking up in the air until i got home from work.

ive been pinching back the growth hoping it would back bud where needed but it just seems to clump up on the ends and never sprout farther back along the branch.

anyone have any suggestions - i havent really found alot of info on this species as it relates to bonsai.

Look up Cryptomeria japonica there are a number of named sports/varieities. They can do very well for bonsai, take some foliage work to keep them green back towards the trunk.

Nice little tree.
