I would actually like to keep it a bit taller than the 6:1 ratio. I wouldn't reduce it to far though. Maybe only a little bit short than my virtual. I like seeing the long flowing trunk of this larch. Only time will tell if this will fatten up.

With the new pic I still think where I chopped it is the best spot or a little bit lower than that.

I decided a few days ago to air layer off the top section so for now that's all I'm going to do. We'll see if there is enough "season" left to complete it or not...probably not. I haven't tried to take an air layer through our winters yet so that may be a bit of a challenge.
