American Bonsai - Review

American Bonsai - Review

If you're ever in Royal Oak, Michigan there is a little bonsai shop called American Bonsai that sits right on Rochester Road, just south of 12 Mile Road that is worth the visit.

It is owned by Jim and Marcia Kelly who are always friendly, helpful and ready to answer any questions that you may have.

Besides bonsai, pots, tools, soil, and such, they also run a full bonsai care service where customers often drop off their trees for pruning, styling or other services. Jim and Marcia also keep quite busy giving lectures at garden clubs and garden centers.

When you are looking around the shop, a few surprises always jump out at you. Moss plantings and dinosaurs are just a few of the eye openers.

Stop in or give them a call at 248-542-2421, they will welcome the visit.

I think they moved!

One of my favorite plants died due to an accident on my part. I went there, and their shop is closed! I was really bumed!

However, I think they just moved north to Clawson. I searched the yellow pages for a Bonsai nursery, and found this:

I'll swing by there the next time I'm down by that way and make sure they're still around!
