Acer Buergerianum From China

This Acer buergerianum is brought from China just 5 days ago. It’s height 30 sm, thickness of the trunk in the basis 6 cm.
This is advantage of china maples – thick trunks, a little of the kind in Russia or very expensive

Nebari, as you can see, is not perfect, it would be desirable to correct, but all works are postponed till next spring.

It is possible to see that the tree wasn’t disturbed for a long time, and it wasn’t not been planted in this pot just before sale. Learned bitter experience of repoting plants with change of the soil in the middle of the summer, I just repot without disturbing the roots to a greater training pot, as the roots have already got out through a drainage hole. Now I think let it grow for a while as it wants to.
In general the tree makes impression well-groomed, but it was formed corresponding to the Chinese penjin canons, not bonsai, and it is to the best as there is an opportunity for the further work.

I’ll be greatful for any comments and maybe some suggestions on further styling. How do you think - should I use any antiseptic – not sure than the tree was treated before?

I think I like the back view as a better front.

Jur,
How nice that you can import trees in the pots with roots intact. That HAS TO help in import survival.
In Moscow, how do you expect to over-winter these.? I've found the chinese versions are pretty touchy to cold, but , have had good luck in overwintering mine in my unheated greenhouse by using styrofoam cooler-type boxes with holes in bottom. A little mulch in bottom, then set potted plant in box, then back fill over pot. Be sure to keep moist. I've never lost a trident in winter that way. I'll try to popst a picture if I can find one. It gets to zero degrees Ferenheit here ( or close) normally every winter. I'm pretty sure you guys are AT LEAST that cold!
Also, the twine "wiring" is common on trees I've seen a friend import from China Beijing area that he's bought from local growers collections ( not necessarily exporters) and he has watched them doing this twine tying work very quickly and precise. No wire!
Regards,
Dale Cochoy

Dale, thanks a lot for the advices!
About the import - to tell the truth, it was "smuggling" - quarantine service didn't notice the tree and it was the gift from the friend who visited China.
One month ago I travelled across China too and have brought therefrom a maple. But I has replaced it there from the soil in expanded clay (ceramsite). Unfortunately it is neither alive nor dead till now.
Unfortunately I have no greenhouse but no problems with overwintering - all my deciduous and conifers spend the winter on the glazed loggia (balcony), but it's not very big . I try to keep the temperature +2+5 on the floor and suppose my potensais are satisfied

Ohoh!!!!
That is not a very nice thing to do, avoiding quarantine.

Nice tree though. Soil mixture looks very bad. Too fine.
