Here is a series of plants that I would consider acceptable for accent plants. These are all palm sized or what I would call mame. The first picture is a California ivy in a Chinese glazed pot.

This second tree is a chinese elm cutting that was taken from my first bonsai. The only reason that this is interesting is becaus of the age of the tree, 22 years on the parent tree and 3 yrs as a cutting in this unglased chinese pot. This is why this tree shows its old bark.

This is also a green mountain maple but it has resided in this pot for 15 years. This is an old chinese pot that I found in an antique store.

This shimpaku was airlayered off of the parent tree this spring, and potted directly into this green glazed Chinese pot. Very young material.

And the last is as yet unidentified. This is only because I have been lax and not asked my local bonsai nurseryman Gray Anderson to identify it for me.

I guess I had better do so now that it is posted! I hope that this helps you all to get some ideas for accent plants.
