You vs a Master

Here is a bit of a challenge for you.
This weekend there is a bonsai show in Asheville NC. The featured artist is Brook Zhao from China. Not sure but I really don't think anyone here would call him a less than a master bonsai artist.
Anyway I will be displaying trees at this show. He will be critiquing them. A normal thing at these functions.
I will post pictures of my trees and you can compare what you think of them with his thoughts on these trees.
You can't hurt my feelings as Zhao's opinion is the only one that I am interested in. In this case your opinion does not matter . Well maybe a bit ;o)
So if there is a few of you that like a challenge (and can take it you might be wrong) let me know. I'll post the pictures . You make your comments, I'll post Zhao's and we will see how close you are.
There are a total of 5 trees. I'll post them as soon as there is some interest shown.
All I ask is that no critiques are forthcoming till after noon on the 8th of this month. I will leave my house by then and will have no chance of fiddling with the outcome.
Any takers ;o)

Wow, an invitation to critique Ron Martin's trees. I have been waiting for this moment for about a year. I can hardly wait. Put um on the glass

Ron,

I'll say he's a master. Does some outstanding land and water penjing.
I'm really looking forward to meeting him this weekend. I'll be there when he's critiquing your trees, so I'll pass on this challenge
Heres a pretty good site about him www.venuscomm.com/

See you friday!

Kind regards,
Dave

It will go to 75K and 640x640 max. Those are rather smaller.

For instance the chinese elm is 50.3k and 450x339, so it could be up to 50% larger file size and almost 300% bigger image size (assuming you can compress adequately). Plus it's a poor crop.

Anyway, they could be this big:

Uh, Matt...?

I think the challenge was to critique the trees, not the file compression scheme.

Seriously, though, that background is abysmal!

-Carl

Edit: Interesting challenge - I presume that Brook Zhao will be critiquing these as penjing rather than as bonsai?

Sorry Guys. I'm no photographer. I just do little trees. ;o)
I would assume Zhao will do as he aleays does. Critique them for what they are.
