Pootsie,
All maps aside...
From experience I can tell that you are AT LEAST a zone higher than Cleveburg some 140+- miles north. Temp/weather change dramatically at rt71 at Mansfield. It's like there is a wall there. You'll see first hand if ever driving the trip during a storm. Overwintering trees is a much easier task down there.

Thanks Dale.
Just a moment ago I was speaking with a co-worker about the "wall" at Mansfield. I've driven through it on many occassions and it really is a clear line.
Winter should be a cinch, then, eh? Just a little wind protection should do the trick?

pootsie,

Glad your move went well. Benches hold more than pedestals, so proceed accordingly . That back fence would look good lined with pedestals of varying heights. I sincerely hope the neighbors don't prove to be "sticky fingered".

You can always plant tomatoes/peppers in between the bonsai. Just convince her how daily watering would provide superior fruit.

Take care,

John

Good Luck Poots,

Location, Location, Location...

Look for that southern exposure, not so close neighbors, or tall fences...
