Wrist Bands For BCI

This was an email sent to me, I think this forum is a good way to get the word out.
Dear Bonsai Friends: I want to alert you to a new fundraising item for BCI. I encourage you all to purchase some of these and to get others to do so. I think there may even be people who are not particularly bonsai enthusiasts who may be interested in these wristbands, as some people collect them like many have collected pins before.

I’ve announced this on the IBC Gallery at:

It should be going up on the BCI website soon, and you can find it already at Steve Pilacik’s website for Matsu Momiji Nursery.

Please post this in your newsletters, web sites, clubs and magazines. We really, really appreciate your support.

Cordially,

Alan Walker

We are having silicone wristbands made to help BCI get back on their feet.

All proceeds (100% will be given to BCI so that the can rebuild and continue to educate us in the "Art of Bonsai". The wristbands will be $6.00 - that will cover the shipping in the USA. If you buy 10 wristbands the cost will be $50.00 shipping paid in the USA.

International Buyers please email for the shipping cost to your country

Thanks for your support

Bracelets will be available October 1st. Pre-orders are being accepted NOW!!

I think it's a reasonable idea...or just send money directly to BCI

Excellent idea! Send money now. They need it now, and will need it later too.

I have created a banner and linked here. I couldn't find information re: payment methods, preferred address or Paypal account at Steve's site. This would be much more effective if there were specific ordering instructions with details. It appears the IBC topic has been locked, but maybe I just can't figure out why there are no reply buttons.

This is unfortunate.

Regards,

Matt

The related IBC thread was locked as it was waxing political, not bonsai related. (sound familiar??)

Steve's site says PayPal is an option, and that over 100 orders have been placed already...

I suspect his email address is what he uses for his paypal account. However, email Steve and inquire re. the logistics of ordering.

I followed John's link above, and then when I saw the email address in that page, I went to paypal, and sent a paypal to that email address. It specifically was:

SPilacik@nc.rr.com

I did insure that I put in the comments a quick note to Steve telling him this was a donation for the wristband.
