Wisteria AirLayering

I'ver just performed an airlayer on my wisteria. Please ignore the cheap training pot and tools. I tried to make it as cheap as possible. The reason i did this is because the trunk is too tall and it has nasty bumps caused by grafts and a terrbile rootage.

D3,
Looks like that should work. Thanks for the play-by-play. What did you use inside the pot?

Also (someone correct me if I'm wrong please) but I've heard that allowing rooting hormone into your regular soil could be a bad thing. If this is the case you may want to get it out of the bottom pot or at least flush it out with plenty of water. Again just something I have heard so please correct me if I am wrong.

Adam

Rooting hormone is ment for forcing the tree to produce roots so i don't see why it's a bad thing altogether.i have sprinkled it on the top of the soil to make sure it works, what happened was that when i put the soil the hormone from the cut fell off (30 % of it ) and i felt that it wasn't enough. The soil mix is 50% high fertility plant soil( i think it's called peat moss) and 50% small ceramic balls which hold water really well. The tree sits in a warm environment and dries really fast so i had to use something that holds water.
