Im training this jacaranda in a winswept style.
![]() Its like this because at first I was thinking of a drift style, but studying it a bit more i thought of a windswept style. Right know I have it wired and it looks something like this ![]() And im waitig for new growth! My question is, Does a windswept style needs the branches to be "swept" in the same direction that the trunk of the tree?? If you see I did it in the contrary way, is this ok?? |

The trunk and branches need to be going in the same direction to give a convincing image, if the wind has blown the trunk over it's going to blow every branch, twig and leaf that way too. I don't know about this species so couldn't comment on how well it would work.

The style you show in your picture is more of a leaning style where the trunk and branches go in opposite directions. In a Windswept style, as above the trunk and branches go in the same direction.

ITS NOT A LEANING STYLE, BECAUSE IT DOESNT HACE BRANCHES ON BOTH SIDES!
iN ALEANING STYLE ITS SUPPOSED TO DO THE TRIANGLE EFFECT. I have seen winswept bonsais with its branche sto the other side of the inclination of the trunk. But I need more info. |

Not to be contrary, but I just can't see a Jacaranda in windswept style. I don't think that it's a species that would be found in those conditions.

hawthorn is a good species for windswept style, it very easy to make it look convincing as they often grow on mountains etc and grow this way naturally
