Bruce, do you or anybody else know when the new one will be out? Hopefully this new one will be more in my price range. I finally got a chance to check out his book Bonsai Design: Japanese Maples from the library, what an excellent read. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone interested in growing maples for Bonsai.
I'd like to thank everyone for the info. on Peter Adams. Maybe we'll get lucky here in Texas and he will come and do a demo and/or workshop for us.

What a coincidence.
I believe today I read that his new book will be out in October 2006. I just made a few copies of diagrams from a friends autographed copy of the maple book. What a great and informative book. I searched abebooks.com and came up with one for $279.00!!!!

I believe he also has a very good book on pinus sylvestris.

Since amazon is taking orders I'd be surprised if it wasen't out 'till Oct. I figure everything in the old book that matters is in the new one with new info gleaned from 20 years experience since publication of the 1st book.

For anyone who has'nt read his art of bonsai, this is probably the most important book ever from someone born and bred in the west.It is the definative book on this subject,my copy is a revised one from the 80's,i dont know if a newer copy ever came along.I've now seen most of the tree's in this book, and most are enormous, especially the trident maple raft which now belongs to ian stewartson. It's iteresting that his work from so long ago is still in "vouge" today, new wave he was doing it 30 yrs ago

Amazon lists 3 Japanese maple books attributed to Peter:

1 Bonsai Japanese Maple

2 Bonsai Design: Japanese Maples

3 Bonsai with Japanese Maples

3 is the new unreleased one. 2 is apparently the older version of it since its price is so high (nearly $150?).

What is number 1?

Do you think that when the newer version is released that the older one will feel the market pressure and come down in price?
