Buntaro,
Lotus is just great. Bolet and Chad are wonderful to deal with. They have 2.5 acres of trees. The web site is not current so just send them a note about what your looking for and they will be happy to send a variety of pics. Deacon |

Brent over at evergreen garden works has excellent starter material. I purchased some corkbark elms, seju elms, chinese maple, a couple years back and them trees are healthy as ever. Just recently about 2 weeks ago I got my japanese black pine var arakawa one gallon nursery stock in the mail and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the stock he has. Thanks Brent

Does anyone know of any bonsai nurseries or nurseries with good stock in the Northeast? I'm in CT and I haven't run across too many places with good starter material. I do have an excellent serissa that I obtained from Mill Brooks Bonsai in Vermont, my former home. It seemed to be a rather small operation (less than an acre, maybe even less than half and acre)
and most of what they had was already trained and potted up. Not much untrained or semi-trained stock except for some serissa and figs. Tropicals. But the green houses where awesome! Packed to the brim with some really cool trees! The tropical greenhouse was particulary interesting to me. My favorite tree there was the European Buckthorn, not because I like the bush, but because he found something possitive to do with a nasty invasive weed. By this date, I have attepted to transplant hundreds of buckthorn bushes; all but three have died, and those three aren't that promising. Either way, I feel satisfied digging them up!

Have you tried Bonsai West Or New England Bonsai Gardens Both places have everything from starter material to showcase pieces, and specialize in species that are suitable for bonsai. Adam |
