I'm new here as well but I'm not new to online communication and as silly as it may sound most people have a sensitivity to text in all caps.

Al has done a tour of Southern California bonsai nurseries, and you can follow along.

A couple of images in Part 1 broke in the move to the new server, but it's almost all still there:

Perfect timing. There's a California Bonsai Society Annual Thanksgiving Sale going on in Van Nuys.
November 29, 9 am to 4 pm
The Japanese Gardens
6100 Woodley Avenue, Van Nuys, CA

I'll be in Legoland for my son's birthday, so I'll miss it
Have fun.

If you'll have a vehicle available, you shouldn't miss a visit to the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, which includes the "Southern Collection" of the Golden State Bonsai Federation.
San Marino is immediately east of Pasadena, which isn't far from Los Angeles.....and this trip would always be outstanding.

Well.... as you may know, we've had some large fires recently. I've not been to Big Bear yet, but I would imagine the scene is pretty bleak. Santa Monica and San Gabriel mountains are close to Hollywood and you can find some nice spots. You may want to visit the Huntington Library as Robert suggested as a relatively quick retreat. They have the bonsai collection, but also nice art displays, gardens, etc. Descanso Garden in Glendale is another nice spot.
Redwoods are probably too far.

PS. They're talking about rain on the weekend = snow in the mountains.
