Whatever Happened To The Contest?

Just wondering. Did I miss it? Or is the contest thing something that fell thru the cracks. I know its pretty late in the year for a nursery stock styling contest, at least around here.

I had an idea the other day. And with the recycled "chat" thread coming around, it reminded me of this idea. However I havent really thought it out quite yet. Perhaps you all could help me. Or even tell me I am crazy and it wont work.

Matt in the past has done Video Cam styling sessions. We have in the past, joined in the chat rooms for some great conversations. Could we combine the two, for a contest of some sort. Obviously, alot of us cannot engage in a styling session thru a web cam, but perhaps Matt could provide something...well I just dont know yet, but something. Perhaps this route is not well thought through, on my part.....just thinkin through my fingertips here.

The chat session may be a live venue to hold a contest of sorts too......a moderator could provide us a test, or a quiz. Perhaps a bonsai treasure hunt online....what the heck do they call those things when you have a list and you have to go find them....geez my brain is fried

anyhow.....perhaps it wont work, but maybe someone out there can expand this idea, or not.

Thanks for listenin...

Paul

Paul,

I was also wondering what became of the contest idea...lot of newer members here, including myself who haven't participated in a bonsaitalk contest before and I for one was looking forward to it.

In my zone anyhow, the season is quickly coming to an end and we will be buried in ice before you know it. Perhaps they are waiting for spring in this or some other zone?

Either way, I will do my best to participate, even if I have to use an ice pick to chip stock out of the pot.
