what do you think
I bought this japanese maple last weekend at a show the vendor told me it was 12 years old .The guy seemed to have good records of all his trees he had but I dpnt know he may have been pulling my leg what do you think? The tree is 9 1/2 " tall including the pot. Let me know what you think and how would be best to display this tree.

Re: what do you think
Hi sankastaff
Actual calendar age doesn't matter much, really, but it is a bit young looking for a tree of 12 years. If you hadn't told me I would have guessed 5. The bark and ramification would give some clue as to the actual age, more so than the height, and its a little hard to assess that in a small photo on the internet, but it looks a little green to me, and usually by 10 years' time you'd have grey bark. To respond to your question for display - It might be good to see another side of your tree for other possibilities.
