What is the common denominator?

Been wondering lately about the various types of people who have found their way to bonsai.

From Lawyers to Biologist to Used Car Salesmen, we have them all. What is the common denominator? What is that one thing we all have in common that led us to bonsai?

What follows is a purely experimental poll....

Comments appreciated.

I believe that it is a deeper appreciation of nature than many people have that brings bonsai-ists together. e.g. a mountain scene is painted by an artist, he or she has an appreciation of the intricacies of the colour within nature, a person who does bonsai has to appreciate the climate, weather, colour, shape, natural history, life etc.

Thats just my .02

When I was a kid, I collected and planted seeds and seedling trees. Always liked trees. Also I have done a lot of modeling (trains, boats, airplanes etc) so I like minature versions that I can create and hold in my hand. Some artistic training and an appreciation of asian (Japanese) art forms has lead to combining all of above; equals bonsai.

Yes, but what's the sense in asking questions you know everyone will answer yes to?
