Book well, they laughed at columbus.....

here is another experiment i have been trialing in my outdoor lab.

it is certainly not a controlled one apart from me finding these guys and placing them onto the test tree but it may some day turn out interesting results.

there are 13 on there at present doing their unpaid labour.

they can get quite large, ( average thumb size ) so they have the capability to prune 6mm branches off the wrong tree if im not careful.

i will get a better pic of them but not today. so here is this one.

Gday Hort!

I don't know what you're showing us... Caterpillars, perhaps? I kept the Cup Moth caterpillar on my Angophora, knowing that it would do little in the way of real damage, and I've seen severe caterpillar infestations in field-grown Eucs lead to brilliant ramification and small leaf size. I have yet to investigate that path...

Are they those insect larvae that make twiggy little mobile homes on their back?

Thanks and good luck.

Fly.

BTW, what is the shrub that you are showing us? Tea Tree (Leptospermum), Melaleuca or Thryptomine, maybe?
