Weeping Trees

Does anyone know a good tree that weeps naturally. I looked at the Weeping Willow however the leaves are too big. I have seen several weeping Tamarix trees but unfortunately I can't find any seeds. Does anyone know where to find Tamarix seeds or other weeping speciman that would be suitable?

Thanks,

Mon Capitan,

I can get Tamarix here in many nurserys. I wonder though if you would have sucess with this one, it is the ultimate hot dry climate survivor. Windsor, Ontario doesn't sound to hot and dry to me am I right?

I've seen Elms done in this style, Zelcovas, Brazilian pepper. Its more a matter of styling them of species.

Your probably right, however, I was hoping to grow them in my indoor greenhouse where the temperature is around 75 degrees Fahreheit. Although, it is very humid in there and definetly not dry so I guess I should try a different species.

Thanks,

you should try ficus benjimima commonly known as the weeping fig they are very easy to propegate fron cuttings or layers, i havent tried seed.
this tree is from 1971 but it's not 'weeping' as much as i have seen them do.

p.s
they are sub - tropical trees and would most probably need to be kept in your greenhouse year round.
good luck.
