Weeping Redpine?

Has anyone ever seen or better yet tried to work with a Pinus Densiflora Pendula aka "Japanese Weeping Red Pine"? If so, are there any pics of this as bonsai?

I found a couple with great trunks, taper and very nice flaking bark for a modest sum of money.

Before buying for bonsai I wanted to get some info.

Thanks.

I have one of these - I don't have photos unfortunately. One thing to look for is the position and quality of the graft - because most many Japanese Red Pine (JRP) propagated in the nursery trade are on JBP (Japanese Black Pine) rootstock. If it is not grafted, it may be especially suited to bonsai!

One thing I should say is these trees are much less robust than JBP so you may want to get some experience with JBP before moving into JRP or JWP

Regards,

Matt

Matt,
My experience with this variety is exactly like yours.
Make sure the graft line is not very noticeable.
