I would look for u. parvifolia seeds or try under it common name chinese elm. Cork bark elm is a common name for Ulmus parvifolia. NOt all U. parvifolia seedlings that I have seen have exagerated cork bark. If you are growing from seed even if they are seeds from 'seju' or 'corticosa' (two varites well known for cork bark) there is no gaurentee the seedlings will have cork bark. Finding seeds from specific parents is going to be difficult. You might have to find a bonsaist with a full grown named tree. Even then unless they have hand pollinated it only one parent will be known. Unless you are atempting plant breeding if you realy want the cork bark I would buy a named variety. Chinese elm/ulmus parvifolia seads can be found many places. Ebay always has them.

Brent at evergreengardenworks.com has cork bark young stock, very nice and fairly inexpensive. They have silver edged leaves, very pretty. He is in Calif and will ship to you.

I highly recommend him, and I have bought three cork bark elms from him so far.

Gonna make a forest some day.. must buy more.

You'd better ask Roy first. Sneaking cuttings from such a well respected bonsai artist... well, that's a hangin' offense.
