visit to Teunis jan Klein's garden

Today i finaly had a new change to visit Teunis jan en Branca Klein. Teunis jan is one of my oldes Dutch bonsai friends, and i am a big fan of his work, and i might ad, a bid jealous of what he has accomplished rebuilding his house in some kind of bonsai heaven. Teunis jan is the proud winner of this years prestiges Ginkgo award with the beautiful acer you can see on the first picture, he worked on this bonsai for 6 years now. It was shown for the first time at the WBC 2002 in Munich, the second time it won the Ginkgo! I shot this photo in his new large club space the build next to his house together with a small bonsai shop, where his pupils have all the room to work and buy all the things they need fore their work!
Next to this new building he has created a nice bonsai garden, where you walk trough to reach his large glass house where his bonsai stay during the winter.
It's is not all finished as of yet, but it allready looks pretty great, he is even building a realy large koi pond!
I like to post some shots of his bonsai, the photos are not to good, but it was terrible weather today with verry bad light! I hope you like them to, because i have the upmost respect for this two people who put every penny they urn in to this bonsai dream they have, i wish them all the luck for when it is al finished!
P.S,
I immediately asked him to join the Bonsai Talk Forum, so i hope he will post many of threads!
Enjoy the photo's
Regards,
Hans van Meer.

That's an amazing set up. I only wish I had the resources to build a room like the one depicted in the first picture. I like the recessed wall displays the most. I have a set up like that in my sun room right now, but I like the balance of the three displays.

Those trees outside are phenomenal, if I had trees like that I'd build a house around them too

By the way, how is it that that acer still has its leaves?

Is that an elm the cat is fertilizing?

An astonishing garden. Thank you very, very much for sharing, Hans! That Ginkgo award was well deserved.
