Exclamation Using bonsaiTALK Tips: #1 Attachment Viewing

I thought I might start a series of tips on using bonsaiTALK to help out some folks who might not have used it before, and also to make some of the features more familiar. These thoughts might be added to the faq in the future. It would probably be easiest to start with browsing bonsaiTALK and work into some more advanced features later.

This tip is about the attachment viewer.

When you're reading a message thread (I prefer the word topic, but they are called threads here) you may come across one or more images beneath the post with the word ENLARGE beneath them. These are called thumbnails. There is an example attached just below this post. You can click on the picture or the word to enlarge the picture, it doesn't matter.

1. For most browsers, a new window will open with the picture in it.

2. The first thing to do is to resize the window to a convenient size, and move it out of the way so that it doesn't cover the other thumbnails.

3. If your screen is large enough you can resize the forum into its own window, and have the attachment viewer up on the right, as I have shown in the attachment below.

Now, when you browse, don't close the attachment viewer. Leave that window open and whenever you click a new thumbnail, it will load right into the same window.**

Some notes

1. You can make the window any size or proportion you want. Not all images are the same size, so you may have to work around the screenspace you have available to you.

Any questions about this are welcome.

REMEMBER: you don't need to close that attachment viewer window!!

**If you have JavaScript disabled, the image will not load into the same window. If you don't know what JavaScript is, don't worry about it.
